Costco members will have a chance to take advantage of a limited-time deal on a premium Chevrolet Silverado beginning next month.
General Motors will make 5,000 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab pickups available for purchase or lease through the Costco Auto Program. This is the first time Costco Auto has partnered with an automaker to sell a vehicle exclusively.
The truck, which comes with premium features including 22-inch limited-edition chrome wheels, chrome steps, Bose audio and front and rear park assist, will be available for Costco members from April 1 through May 31 or until it is sold out. The pickup will be available for purchase in two- or four-wheel drive.
Costco Auto, which provides members with prearranged prices on new and used vehicles, has become a player in the U.S. vehicle sales market since its founding in 1989. About 465,000 vehicles were sold through Costco Auto in 2015 at more than 3,000 U.S. dealerships.
Members will be offered pricing equivalent to what employees of GM suppliers are given. Members will also be offered a $1,000 Costco member allowance and qualifying rebates and incentives, in addition to a $1,000 Costco card if a survey is completed.
Costco said examples of the premium Silverado will be on display at some of its locations nationwide.
