NEXT STAGE: New in 2020
Volkswagen confirms that the second vehicle to be built on its MEB electric platform will be called the ID4. The compact crossover will be the VW brand's first battery-powered crossover and the first of its MEB-based electric vehicles aimed at global markets. It will be built and sold in the U.S., Europe and China. The ID4 will have a range of up to 311 miles on a single charge, depending on the battery size and drivetrain configuration.
U.S. dealers are scheduled to see it on their lots in late 2020.
