Visteon continues to move forward developing chips that support what the technology company calls the intelligent automotive cockpit.
This year, it unveiled its fourth-generation SmartCore cockpit domain controller.
Launched in 2018 as the auto industry's first cockpit domain controller technology platform, Visteon's SmartCore system-on-chip debuted in the 2021 model of Geely's flagship Xingyue L SUV.
The SmartCore intelligent system centralizes various cockpit functions and controls the in-vehicle human-machine interface. It can independently operate the instrument cluster and infotainment screen, along with other in-cabin applications such as advanced driver-assistance systems, using a single system-on-chip.
