Some algorithms identify trends on the Internet. Others will help the car of the future keep you safe and not stressed out. That's the promise of Harman's Ready Care in-cabin monitoring system, which uses machine learning to create driver profiles with personalized ways to keep drivers alert.
Ready Care has three critical features in its quiver: measuring cognitive distractions, tracking driver drowsiness and suggesting stress-free routes.
The first two technologies are similar to driver sensing services used in other vehicles, just more individualized. Harman, a Samsung company, and Gentherm worked together on Ready Care to teach it the best way to interact with a driver to keep them alert. For example, the system can learn if drivers prefer audio or visual alerts.
