As the buying and selling of auto parts grows online, so does the number of those products lost, stolen or damaged during shipping.
RevolutionParts has come up with a way to ease the hassle of dealing with missing or damaged parts. The company, which provides parts retail and wholesale commerce channels, has partnered with Extend to bring shipping protection to its customers who sell parts and accessories through RevolutionParts' platform.
Buyers whose parts did not arrive or were delivered damaged can submit an online claim, and Extend, a leading shipping protection provider, will process 98 percent of them in 90 seconds or less. All communication and interaction with buyers and shipping carriers is handled by Extend. The shipping protection is provided at no additional cost to sellers.
RevolutionParts CEO Ibrahim Mesbah said a poor shipping experience is not only bad for the parts buyer, "but it hurts our sellers, too, because it reduces return purchases, increases their workload, reduces profitability and opens them to potential negative reviews."
The partnership with Extend "will help dealerships across the U.S. provide better customer service to parts buyers by protecting them from stolen, lost or damaged packages," Mesbah said. "It further removes friction from the experience, as our dealerships do not have to spend time on the claims process with different shipping carriers."
