The Hiroshima-based automaker plans to introduce the CX-60 in Europe and Japan. It will be the lead-off model for a line of four crossovers built on a newly developed architecture for large vehicles that can accommodated inline 6-cylinder engines and rear-wheel drive setups.

The 2023 Toyota Crown, built in Japan, will feature a hybrid powertrain and replace the large Avalon sedan in the brand's U.S. lineup.

Toyota boss Akio Toyoda had a big hand in testing and vetting his new namesake GR Corolla hot hatch, which will be go on sale this winter in Japan and be available on U.S. dealer lots next year as a 2023 model.
