Automotive News has hired Dan Shine as editor of Fixed Ops Journal, the magazine that focuses on dealerships' parts, service and collision departments. Shine will also oversee coverage of finance and insurance for Automotive News.
Shine hired to lead Fixed Ops Journal
Shine, 56, joins Automotive News from the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan, where he held a variety of communications roles for nearly 16 years. Before that, he spent eight years at the Detroit Free Press as an editor and reporter and eight years as a reporter at The Dallas Morning News.
He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Michigan State University and a master's degree in communications from Purdue University.
