Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect the removal of the supplier originally attributed to the defective camera. It's unclear which company produced the defective camera.
Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 422,000 2020-23 Explorer, 2020-23 Lincoln Aviator and 2020-22 Lincoln Corsair vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera that might not display properly. Vehicles equipped with a rear camera only are not affected.
The recall expands and replaces a recall for the same defect issued in January. Cameras might intermittently display either a rear camera blue image or a full blue or black image on screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse or when the 360-degree view is selected and available. Ford estimated that 100 percent of the vehicles recalled are affected.
