Maserati Grecale
NEXT STAGE: New in 2022
Maserati is set to challenge the Porsche Macan and BMW X3 with the Grecale midsize SUV, the exotic Italian brand's second SUV after the larger Levante. It will arrive in European dealerships in the third quarter and in the U.S. by the end of 2022.
The Grecale sits on a Maserati-reworked version of the Giorgio platform that underpins the Alfa Romeo Stelvio midsize SUV. It will be built alongside the Stelvio in a Stellantis plant in Cassino, Italy.
It will be available with a regular gasoline engine and two mild-hybrid versions. All three versions of the Grecale are four-wheel drive.
NEXT STAGE: Addition in 2023
A full-electric version will launch in 2023. It will be built on a Giorgio platform heavily re-engineered by Maserati rather than a new Stellantis dedicated EV platform. It will potentially feature 800-volt architecture, enabling shorter charging times than the 400-volt architecture currently used in most EVs.
