NEXT STAGE: New in 2021
Due to shelter-at-home orders and other government restrictions because of the COVID-19 outbreak, electric truckmaker Rivian is pushing back plans to launch sales of a pickup and SUV assembled at a resurrected Mitsubishi plant in Normal, Ill. The company, backed by investments from Amazon, Ford and Cox Automotive, planned to begin deliveries in late 2020 but now says customer shipments will begin in 2021.
