Less than one week after announcing the creation of a new brand with China’s Chery Automobile Co., HAAH CEO Duke Hale said 80 dealers have signed up to sell the Vantas automobiles.
HAAH, which is working to distribute Zotye autos from China next year, is recruiting dealers and meeting with economic development officials at the NADA Show.
HAAH said Friday that it’s seeking an existing factory so it can start assembly of knockdown kits quickly and begin sales as soon as next year.
Two models from Chery’s Exeed brand were revealed on the show floor. They will be the basis for the Vantas TXL compact crossover, comparable to a Hyundai Santa Fe, and the Vantas VX, which is sized more like a Kia Telluride or Hyundai Pallisade.
