NEXT STAGE: Redesign in 2020
Mazda's top seller in the U.S., the stylish compact crossover received much needed attention this year, including an optional turbocharged engine, an available twin- turbo diesel engine on the Signature trim (for just over $42,000, including shipping), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, plus premium options such as ventilated seats and a surround-view camera. The only option missing is perhaps the Skyactiv-X engine, which could come on the next generation, likely for the 2021 or 2022 model year.
