As the coronavirus continues to wreak havoc on global supply chains, the automotive industry faces another potential upset over a June 1 entry-into-force date for all sections of North America's new trade pact.
The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement — ratified by the Mexican legislature last June and by Congress in January — replaces the 26-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement. Canadian lawmakers approved the agreement March 13 before leaving for a weekslong break to avoid spreading the coronavirus.
