TO THE EDITOR:
Sergio Marchionne was indeed spot on with his "Confessions of a Capital Junkie" ("Collaborations suggest that Sergio was right," Sept. 14). Even though I am a car nut, I would not care if the water pump, fuel pump, power steering, wheel hubs, transmission or differentials came from a different manufacturer, as long as it was of high quality!
I do not suppose any Toyota Supra customers are complaining about their BMW buttery-smooth inline six-cylinder engines. Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee customers obviously approve and applaud the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and M-Class platforms their vehicles ride on. General Motors and Ford share a 10-speed automatic. Honda is a wonderfully precise maker of all things mechanical and is a perfect partner for GM.
