Shift in service trust may be due to ‘gouging’

Regarding “Dealership service departments no longer consumers’ top choice, survey shows,” autonews.com, Dec. 7: I can’t help but wonder if the shift in trust toward independent repair shops isn’t fallout from dealers gouging with “market adjustments” and “dealer added profit” or accessory packs that their sales departments have resorted to in the past few years.
