Regarding "EFG Companies predicts 2023 will be a year of buyer needs, not wants," autonews.com, Feb. 26: I suspect EFG folks making this prediction have never sold retail new vehicles for a living — just give advice about it.
American retail vehicle sales have always been about "want" buyers. Very, very few actually arrive to the dealership from riding the bus or have the trade-in with no use left.
Ask any retail salesperson when the last time they sold to a "need" buyer was.
