TO THE EDITOR:
Regarding "Hyundai prototype enters e-scooter race" (Sept. 2): How lazy has our society become that there is a need for e-scooters? Hyundai says that "in addition to addressing first- and last-mile mobility," the auto group "aims to reduce congestion and emissions in the city centers." If e-scooters ever become widely adopted, I can only imagine the "congestion" they will cause.
Personally, I can never see myself so pressed for time or unwilling to walk a half-mile that I would need one of these devices.
Do yourself and society a favor and walk the "first and last mile." Hopefully, this is just an exercise in futility.
