TO THE EDITOR:
In his letter to the editor Oct. 21, "Where is the dealer uproar over Cox?" Steve Lindsay wrote that Cox Automotive is competing with dealers and trying to undermine their business. Nothing could be further from the truth.
We're all-in with dealers, who have supported our business for decades. No one has invested more in tools for dealers or is more invested in their success than Cox Automotive. No one is a bigger supporter of the dealer network — through everything from franchise laws to philanthropy — than we are.
In fact, we're still doing everything we can to help dealers thrive (with lots of exciting stuff just ahead in 2020). That includes our investment in Rivian. Dealers need to be ready when electric vehicles take over their showrooms, service lanes and trade-in desks. We're going to use our seat at the table to make products that help dealers handle, service and value EVs and their batteries.
Our fortunes are intertwined with each of the thousands of franchised and independent car dealers that we call friends and clients. We would never do anything to jeopardize that.
