TO THE EDITOR:
Air quality has vastly improved in our cities since the pandemic-enforced lockdown began. I have been following the news every day and have been entranced by photos of Los Angeles and India, especially, as they have mountains showing now that were obscured by the smog of just a few weeks ago.
If our air can recover so soon, what would happen if everyone were to drive electric vehicles instead of gasoline- or diesel-powered cars and trucks? Besides having much cleaner air to breathe, people would not hesitate to go outside to exercise and just have fun. I well remember when I was a kid, my brothers and I were almost never inside.
Cleaner air is good for the planet and its population.
