I would not be where I am today were it not for Maryann Keller.
Maryann was one of the first women, if not the first, to become an auto analyst on Wall Street. She later wrote books, ran companies and consulted others. She died June 16 at the age of 78.
I met Maryann when I became the General Motors reporter for Automotive News in the 1980s. Like Wall Street, auto journalism had few women covering the industry.
