Cruise dropping robotaxi effort as GM shifts focus to driver-assist tech

General Motors said it will combine Cruise and its own technical teams “into a single effort to advance autonomous and assisted driving.” The automaker expects to save more than $1 billion annually after it restructures Cruise.
