2021 Volvo S90
The Volvo S90 sedan undergoes a freshening for the 2021 model year that includes reshaped fog lights, a lower front bumper and a new spoiler design. The Bowers & Wilkins audio system adds automatic vehicle noise cancellation, an upgraded amplifier and a mode that replicates the interior sound of a jazz club. An advanced air cleaner with a PM 2.5 particle sensor, initially introduced in China, allows the driver to monitor interior air quality through the center infotainment screen and engage the system when needed. Volvo has also replaced rear 12-volt outlets in the S90 with twin USB-C ports, while also adding wireless phone charging capability. Most notably, a new 48-volt mild hybrid system “provides up to 15 percent fuel savings and emission reductions in real world driving," the automaker said. "The brake-by-wire system interacts with the energy recovery system and reduces fuel consumption and emissions by recovering kinetic energy under braking." Volvo has also replaced rear 12-volt outlets in the 90-series cars with twin USB-C ports, while also adding wireless phone charging capability in most models.
