2023 Toyota Prius

Even though sales of the Toyota Prius have fallen as EVs take over, Toyota is launching a fifth-generation version of its hybrid game changer. The new model remains a hatchback, but it's styling is more reminiscent of a sporty sedan. To go with the updated looks, Toyota has turned up the heat on performance. The old model crawled to 60 mph in around 11 seconds. The new one does it in 6.7. The engine is a 2.0 liter with 194 hp – the biggest engine for the Prius. Two versions will be offered. The standard Prius, which comes in three trims, LE, XLE and Limited, and the sportier Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, also available in three trims, SE, XSE and XSE Premium. No word yet on prices or availability. Both are 2023 models.
