Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept
The Vanquish Zagato Concept, the fifth collaboration from Zagato and Aston Martin, debuted on May 21 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Lake Como, Italy.
Aston Martin's chief creative officer, Marek Reichman, and Andrea Zagato led the design, while vehicle development and engineering took place at Aston's HQ in Gaydon, England. The bodywork features large pieces of carbon fiber, while new taillights evoke classic Zagato design. The wing mirrors are inspired by the One-77 and the rear end gets cues from the new DB11. The Zagato also features a retractable spoiler, rear luggage hatch and quad exhaust “nestled in rippling carbon fiber sills.” As with Zagatos of the past, the latest concept receives a wrap-around windshield and a side strake that runs from the wheel arches to the doors. The roof has the “double bubble” shape, also a hallmark of earlier collaborations.
