Korean auto brands under the Hyundai Motor Group umbrella are introducing new hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles ahead of a wave of full EVs that will redefine the auto conglomerate as it moves toward a zero-emissions future.
The Korean automakers are continuing their "all of the above" approach to vehicle technology by refining their gasoline engines, piling on hybrid variants and developing new generations of battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell platforms.
In the near term, Hyundai and Kia are offering plug-in hybrid crossovers for the first time. Those include the Hyundai Tucson and Santa Fe and the Kia Sorento. Next year, a redesigned Kia Sportage will also offer hybrid and plug-in options.
