Dodge is all about muscle, and it's going to stay that way when the brand adds electrification.
Dodge plans to unveil an electric concept car next year that will give enthusiasts a taste of what's to come when it debuts an electric muscle car in 2024. A Stellantis product timeline shows Dodge getting a plug-in hybrid model in 2022 that could be a new crossover.
Charger: For the 2022 model year, a deluxe security alarm comes standard on Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye variants of the speedy sedan, which is a magnet for car thieves. The alarm is included in the driver convenience group on other models. Production could move from Canada to Belvidere, Ill., in 2024, when a redesigned model offering up to 500 miles of range is introduced on the automaker's electrified STLA Large platform. The current gasoline-powered version will last until at least 2024.
Challenger: The sporty coupe gets the same security update as the Charger for the 2022 model year. It's expected to move to the Belvidere Assembly plant with the Charger in 2024 and run on the same STLA Large platform as a redesigned model. The gasoline-powered version will last until at least 2024.
