As some automakers turn to subscription services and other mobility options to attract new customers, Hyundai's Genesis luxury brand wants to enhance the services it already provides.
Genesis launched an all-inclusive leasing program in Florida last week that lets customers combine lease and auto insurance payments.
Genesis Spectrum leases, available through the brand's captive finance company, include auto insurance coverage through MetLife Auto & Home, as well as 3-years/36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance, Service Valet and connected services on all three nameplates -- the G70, G80 and G90 sedans.
Customers want the simplicity of an all-inclusive car payment but are turned off by the high cost of subscription programs, said Connie Kahn, director of Genesis Finance.
"Genesis Spectrum is a very solid next step in the evolution of subscription," Kahn told Automotive News. "A lot of different OEMs and captives are looking for ways to experiment, and a lot of those options are not economically feasible."
There are no plans to roll out Genesis Spectrum nationwide in the near term. Florida has the highest concentration of Genesis dealerships with 46 locations.
