Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis to retire

Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis, who steered the commercial vehicle division to massive profits since its creation in 2021, is retiring at the end of September.

Cannis, who also headed development of the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover and leads the Ford Customer Service Division, has had numerous roles with Ford Motor Co. over 35 years in overseas markets such as Argentina and Russia.

Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue, will lead Ford Pro during the search for a new leader, the automaker said. Ford Blue CFO Daniel Justo will handle customer service duties and become a company officer as of Oct. 1.

"Ted's energy and passion for customers has been instrumental in building Ford Pro into a business that's tracking towards $70 billion in revenue this year — a Fortune 100-size company in its own right," Ford CEO Jim Farley said in a statement. "Ford Pro has the widest and most flexible commercial vehicle lineup, an industry-leading service network including our dealerships and upfitter partnerships, and a sharp focus on lowering the total cost of ownership and increasing uptime for customers. Ford Pro is now poised to become a true, technology-driven growth business — evidenced by the 600,000 paid subscriptions in the second quarter — and a greater competitive advantage for Ford and our customers."

The automaker in July raised its full-year earnings outlook for Ford Pro by $1 billion, to a range of $9 billion to $10 billion. Ford Pro made $2.6 billion in the second quarter.
