The man was hospitalized March 25, five days before Volkswagen’s Mexico unit suspended production at its facilities in Puebla and Guanajuato. He died April 3 and may have had Covid-19, but was never tested, according to the company. The carmaker idled factories in Mexico later than it did elsewhere.
