Automotive Hall of Fame plans to honor 7 inductees

The 2024 Automotive Hall of Fame's Induction & Awards Ceremony will honor seven inductees on Sept. 19.

This distinction is awarded to individuals in the automotive industry "whose efforts helped shape the automotive and mobility marketplace," according to the group

This year's class of inductees are:

• Bill Ford Jr., executive chairman of Ford Motor Co.
• Betsy Ancker-Johnson, the auto industry's first female vice president
• Vic Edelbrock Sr. and Vic Edelbrock Jr., aftermarket pioneers
• John James Sr., who opened the commercial trucking industry to minorities
• Wendell Scott, the first African-American NASCAR driver to win a Cup Series race
• Vivek Sehgal, founder of Tier 1 supplier Motherson.

Automotive Hall of Fame President Sarah Cook recognized the contributions of this year's inductees.

"Once again, this year's class of inductees highlights the breadth of contributions individuals have had on this industry and all that it influences," Cook said in a statement. "This diverse group of trailblazing innovators and leaders have played a critical role in shaping our industry, and we couldn't be more pleased to recognize their achievements and welcome them into the Hall of Fame."
