Cadillac is finally entering the three-row crossover arena with the debut of the XT6 at the 2019 Detroit auto show. The XT6 will be offered only in premium luxury and sport trims and is expected to arrive this summer. The XT6 has only one powertrain: a 3.6-liter V-6 engine estimated at 310 hp and 271 pound-feet of torque. Here's a roundup of XT6 reaction from the automotive media.
"Cadillac had to get a three-row crossover to market as fast as possible to plug the gap between the XT5 and Escalade, but this one feels completely phoned in. It's as close to being a reskinned GMC Acadia Denali as you can possibly get. Engineers couldn't get any more power from that 3.6-liter engine? No special surprise-and-delight features? The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is gonna eat its lunch."

"Until now, anyone who wanted a Cadillac that could seat more than five had to go big — really big — and get the full-sized truck-based Escalade. Shoppers looking for luxury midsized seven-seaters had to shop European or Japanese brands. The XT6 is Cadillac's belated entry into the contemporary three-row luxury-SUV segment. We like that Cadillac has included advanced safety features as standard that were optional on the XT6's siblings from Chevrolet and Buick."
