Holand Automotive Group buys Ferrari store in California

Holand Automotive Group has acquired Ferrari of Rancho Mirage, adding a second California dealership to its growing U.S. footprint. 

The Montreal dealership group, focused on the high end and performance segments of the market, said on Sept. 12 that the deal strengthens its position with high net-worth clients on the West Coast. 

Holand Automotive pushed into California in July 2023 with the purchase of Ferrari South Bay in the greater Los Angeles area. The addition of the dealership in Rancho Mirage will extend the group’s reach to the Coachella Valley, a set of resort-filled desert communities east of Los Angeles. 

The seller of the dealership wasn’t immediately available.

Holand Automotive, which is helmed by Quebec businessman Gad Bitton, also owns Ferrari Quebec in Montreal. 

With three stores representing the Italian supercar maker, Bitton said the group “strongly believes” in the Ferrari brand and its future. 

The latest acquisition brings Holand Automotive’s dealership count to 14. In addition to Ferrari, it represents other high-end brands including McLaren, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Lotus and Maserati at locations, several of them shared, across Quebec City, Montreal and Palm Beach, Fla. 

The group also owns the Circuit Mont-Tremblant, a racetrack in the Laurentian resort town northwest of Montreal.

Without pointing to specifics, Bitton signalled the company is also pursuing further expansion. 

"We're always looking for opportunities without limiting ourselves to any geographic location,” he said in a release.
