A man showed up at a Colorado auto dealership in a brand-new $200,000 Aston Martin last week with a check to buy a $100,000 Porsche.
Store employees got suspicious and called police, who concluded that the 29-year-old was responsible for a two-week spree in which he stole more than $1 million worth of luxury vehicles from dealerships in the area.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the Aston Martin he arrived in was stolen, and the check he tried to use was forged. Police recovered three other cars that he allegedly stole.
The man also was wanted on outstanding felony warrants for identity theft and vehicle theft across the state.
