A luxury car dealer has reportedly set the record for the highest price ever paid for a single-family home in Palm Beach, Fla.
Michael Cantanucci of New Country Motor Car Group, which has dealerships in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Florida, paid $170 million for a Mediterranean-style oceanfront mansion, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The home, built in 2006 and expanded in 2015, is 20,195 square feet with 10 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, a pool, a summer kitchen and about 150 feet of Atlantic Ocean frontage.
The selling price of the mansion is $3 million short of the statewide record for a home, according to The Real Deal.
The sale surpassed the previous Palm Beach record of $155 million set just two months earlier with the sale of radio host Rush Limbaugh's former estate.
Cantanucci's dealerships sell vehicles from Audi, BMW, Lexus, Maserati, Mini, Porsche and Toyota.
He and his wife, Kimberly, have another home in Palm Beach under contract to sell for about $35 million, the Journal reported.
They also sold a unit adjacent to New York's Central Park for more than $40 million in 2021 and bought a nearby unit for more than $50 million, the newspaper said.
