Nope. Curiously. Not according to the newest North American Automotive OEM-Supplier Working Relations Index Study, an annual checkup by Plante Moran.
Despite the revenue-crushing decline in the Chinese auto industry from late 2019 to early 2020, followed by the global shutdown resulting from COVID-19, followed by the general chaos of factories being unable to staff their lines back up to speed, followed by a bizarre shortage of microchips fouling up schedules around the world — and the ensuing stress and strain, lost business and customer order havoc — suppliers saw no significant change in their working relationships with their customers.
