BEIJING -- PSA Peugeot Citroen launched sales of the new Citroen DS 7 Crossback crossover, the company's first vehicle with a telematics system developed by Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies, at the Beijing auto show.
The DS 7 Crossback has a starting price of 213,900 yuan ($33,952).
With Huawei's telematics system, the DS 7 Crossback enables customers to access services including navigation, voice recognition and a connected media portal through the vehicle's dashboard screen, PSA said.
The vehicle also allows users to track maintenance records, trip histories and driving styles via smartphones.
Other services to be made available in the vehicle include infotainment services, remote software updates and navigation mapping, personal assistant, remote vehicle diagnostic and maintenance functions, according to PSA.
The DS 7 is assembled at PSA's joint venture with state-owned Chinese automaker Changan Automobile Co. in the south China city of Shenzhen.
Following the DS 7 Crossback, PSA's other connected vehicles, wherever they are marketed, will also be installed with the telematics system supplied by Huawei.
Aside from PSA, Huawei has also developed telematics and infotainment systems for Audi and state-owned Chinese carmakers Dongfeng Motor Group and GAC Motor Co. in the past two years.
