Retail sales of new passenger vehicles industrywide increased six percent year on year in the first 27 days of August on demand for electrified vehicles, the China Automobile Dealers Association said on Wednesday.
Some 1,356,000 sedans, crossovers, SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles were delivered across China in the period, according to the trade group.
In the same period, deliveries of full electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids advanced 28 percent to around 538,000, the CADA said.
As of August 27, new-car sales industrywide rose two percent to approach 12.7 million.
Of that volume, roughly 4.27 million were EVs and plug-in hybrids, a 35 percent jump from a year earlier.
