Lynk & CO, Geely Automobile Holdings' premium automotive brand, introduced its first model developed on Volvo Car Corp.’s Scalable Platform Architecture in Shanghai.
The Lynk & CO 09 is a six-seat SUV with a 2+2+2 seating layout, according to information disclosed by the brand.
It is 5,042 mm long, 1,977 mm wide and 1,780 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,984 mm.
Its 2.0-turbocharged gasoline engine is matched by an eight-speed automatic transmission and fitted with a 48-volt system.
The vehicle is slated to go on sale in China in the fourth quarter.
Lynk & CO will also roll out hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants as well as five- and seven-seat versions of the 09.
Volvo’s Scalable Platform Architecture was developed for large and midsize vehicles.
Lynk & CO, created in 2017, now sells five compact vehicles including three crossovers, a hatchback and a coupe-like sedan.
The five models, which are available in gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions, are based on Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture.
In May, Lynk & CO delivered 18,059 vehicles in China, an increase of 39 percent from a year earlier. As of May, the brand has tallied sales of 520,700.
