Deliveries at BYD Co., China’s largest electrified-vehicle maker, surged again in May, rallying 109 percent to 240,220, the company said on Thursday.
BYD’s passenger vehicle sales totaled 239,092, an increase of nearly 109 percent, from a year earlier.
The passenger vehicle tally includes 119,603 full-electric models and 119,489 plug-in hybrids, increases of 124 percent and 96 percent, respectively.
Last month, the company delivered 1,128 commercial vehicles including buses and trucks, a gain of 48 percent from a year earlier.
In the first five months, sales at BYD spiked 96 percent to exceed one million.
During the period, the company’s passenger vehicle deliveries surged 94 percent to 996,476 while its commercial vehicle sales spiked 109 percent to 6,115.
BYD aims boost its annual deliveries by 60 percent to 3 million in 2023.
