Autoliv promotes China engineering chief to chief technology officer

Fabien Dumont was named chief technology officer for Autoliv. He will be based in China. The appointment was effective Sept. 17.

Autoliv Inc.’s engineering chief in China, Fabien Dumont, has been promoted to chief technology officer, executive vice president and a member of the supplier’s executive management team.

The appointment, effective Sept. 17, recognizes Dumont’s “vital role in developing innovations and technologies that support the fast-moving Chinese market,” the Swedish automotive safety supplier said.

Dumont’s key contributions in China include leading technological transformation of Autoliv's local steering wheel business, the company said.

Dumont will remain based in China.

"Fabien Dumont's experience in both operations and engineering will be essential as we continue to bring the capabilities from the fast-moving China market and business to the rest of Autoliv,” CEO Mikael Bratt said in a statement.
