New-vehicle sales continued to rebound for the third straight month in June as the industry recovery from the coronavirus outbreak gained more speed.
In June, industry-wide sales advanced 11 percent to 2.28 million, according to estimates released Thursday by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The estimate is based on data provided by key automakers, CAAM noted.
In the first six months, industry-wide sales are estimated to tally10.24 million, a drop of 17 percent from a year earlier, the trade group added.
After contracting 42 percent in the first quarter due to the viral outbreak, China’s new-vehicle market resumed growth in April with monthly sales rising 4.4 percent year over year.
In May, new-vehicle sales jumped 15 percent from a year earlier.
