CES draws hundreds of thousands of technology experts, executives and special guests from around the globe. It's no surprise to see a few big names roaming the show floors or popping up at events throughout the week.
But a few extra-special guest appearances at CES happened at Amazon's media event and happy hour.
At an on-the-record event with Amazon and Ring executives, restaurateur Guy Fieri and retired basketball icon Shaquille O'Neal — an early investor in Ring — were stars of the evening, making an appearance to put together a special cocktail for attendees.
A few of the main ingredients? Tequila and barbecue sauce. The goal? Bringing "Flavortown," the mythical culinary land that exists in Fieri's mind, to CES.
Amazon made waves at the show last week with several automotive-related announcements, including expansion of its Alexa Auto voice-assistant vehicle integrations, the international rollout of the Alexa-enabled Echo Auto device and partnerships on the Alexa Auto software development kit.
