BOX TRUCKS (pictured above): CES honored Gatik for its autonomous box trucks. The company specializes in B2B middle-mile deliveries for retailers such as Walmart and Loblaw.
TRANSPARENT VEHICLE: Continental's Transparent Vehicle technology captures images from around the vehicle, providing
drivers a new perspective and helping to improve safety and reduce crashes.
SMART DEVICE STEERING: The Origo Steering Wheel is from Finnish companies Canatu, Siili Auto, TactoTek and Rightware. It allows drivers to manage all key functions using their thumbs, without letting go of the wheel, thus minimizing distracted driving. Transparent 3D touch surfaces are hidden until lit and replace multiple mechanical controls.
SEE & SPRAY: John Deere's See & Spray is a technologically advanced robot for the agriculture industry that leverages computer vision and machine learning to detect the difference between plants and weeds and target the application of herbicide on weeds. This plant-level management technology gives a machine vision, which benefits the farmer, the surrounding community and the environment.
ICON RADAR: Magna won a "Best of Innovation" title for its high-definition Icon radar. It is able to detect static objects such as guardrails, road debris and speed bumps, as well as moving objects such as vehicles, bicyclists, pedestrians and pets.
SEDAR: TriEye's SEDAR (Spectrum Enhanced Detection and Ranging) is an imaging and ranging product for automated-driving applications. It operates in the short-wave infrared spectrum and provides a 3D depth map from which systems can determine the relative distance to objects.
SUPERCOMPUTER: ZF's ProAI is a flexible, scalable and powerful supercomputer. It is artificial intelligence-capable and suitable for applications from automated driving Level 2 to Level 5.
MULTIDEVICE CHARGING: Aira's Freepower technology enables full-surface, multidevice charging from corner to corner as you drive. The company says its second-generation tech, set to launch this year, is poised to overcome key automotive-specific limitations, such as the need for devices to be precisely aligned to receive power.
HEAD-UP DISPLAY: The Raythink AR Heads Up Display can render augmented-reality graphics and information directly onto the windshield, allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the road. It can display information such as speed, lane-departure warnings, pedestrian crossing warnings, incoming calls, points of interest and more.
