Porsche's bestselling U.S. model, the Macan compact crossover, will get an electric version as early as the second half of 2023.
Spy shots of the electric Macan undergoing winter testing reveal a Taycan-inspired headlight design. Also visible are adaptive grille shutters on the front air dam intake and a retractable rear spoiler.
The electric Macan is a "key model" if Porsche is to hit a goal of electrifying 85 percent of its fleet by 2030, said Ryan Kirchner, new-car manager at Porsche of the Main Line in Newtown Square, Pa.
"The Macan is the car that we sell the most of — and the most of to new customers of the Porsche brand," Kirchner said.
