Hyundai N Vision 74 on tap for performance subbrand

Hyundai Motor is focused on high-performance electric vehicles, including variants under its Magma subbrand that will debut with the Genesis GV60,  likely in late 2025. It also confirmed a production version of the Hyundai N Vision 74, a concept revealed in 2022 with power derived from fuel cell hybrid technology and styling akin to the Pony Coupe Concept created by Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro that debuted at the 1974 Turin Motor Show.

The N Vision 74 is Hyundai's electrification blueprint for the performance division. An 85-kilowatt fuel cell stack, mounted in the front, converts hydrogen to electricity to charge a 62.4-kilowatt-hour battery. The battery offers 800-volt high-speed charging and the 9.3-pound hydrogen tank can be refueled in five minutes. Independent rear-mounted motors, one per wheel, generate total power output of 671 hp.

Till Wartenberg, head of Hyundai N Brand and Motorsports, told media at the 2023 introduction of the Ioniq 5 N that he would do his best to bring the N Vision 74 to life. It "showcases the future driving propulsion may take not only for road cars but also for race cars," he said.
