Cadillac Lyriq receiving software update in March

Cadillac is rolling out a software update for the 2023 Lyriq EV in March that will include improvements to its universal remote and glove box controls.

This isn't an over-the-air update; it will require a dealership visit. Cadillac said it will begin notifying Lyriq owners when it is their time to schedule an appointment with their dealer to receive the update. A spokesman said the process may take a few hours but could vary.

Dealers will receive information next week.

The updates will result in more convenient universal remote and glove box controls in addition to faster myCadillac mobile app remote commands.

"Just like many of our technologies today receive regular updates with new features and improvements, the Cadillac LYRIQ will too," said John Roth, vice president of Cadillac, said in a statement. "This means LYRIQ owners will have the most up-to-date technology in their car, including the latest infotainment offerings, performance enhancements, and more."

Lyriq U.S. sales reached 9,154 last year, placing it behind the Tesla Model X, Rivian R1S, BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE in the midsize premium crossover EV segment.
