Buick is following Cadillac and embracing the big screen. Buick's upcoming Electra E5 electric crossover for China will feature the brand's new Virtual Cockpit System and a 30-inch curved OLED display.
The five-seat crossover, the first Buick to be built on General Motors' Ultium electric vehicle platform, also will come with a 12.6-inch head-up display offering speed and navigation information on the windshield and standard wireless phone charging.
A Buick spokesman told Automotive News that "the Buick Electra E5 has only been revealed and confirmed for the China market at this point." It would slot in size between the Envision compact and Enclave large crossovers.
A version of the Virtual Cockpit System debuted in February on the 2024 Encore GX subcompact crossover.
