Ford Expedition spy art confirms Tremor variant, digital display

Spy photographers have captured images of the redesigned Expedition large SUV virtually undisguised, revealing a new off-road model and other design details.

The images confirm Automotive News reporting that Ford plans an Expedition Tremor variant and a digital display that is smaller than the pillar-to-pillar screen on the Lincoln Nautilus and Navigator.

The photos show a gray Expedition with orange accents as well as "Tremor" stitching on the seat backs. The vehicle is wearing the same 33-inch tires found on the Ford F-150 Tremor.

The automaker has offered a Timberline variant for customers wanting more off-road capability, but it's unclear whether that will continue. The company discontinued the Ford Explorer Timberline and is expected to soon introduce an Explorer Tremor. Executives told dealers at a meeting in early August that all non-Bronco utility vehicles and pickups will get a Tremor variant.

The rear design of the spied Expedition suggests it will get the same split gate that debuted on the redesigned Navigator. It also appears to have new headlight, grille and taillight styling.

The Expedition, last redesigned in 2017 and updated in 2022, also looks to get a new landscape-oriented center screen design as well as rotary shift and volume knobs. A trailer assist dial can also be seen between the two front seats.

Ford plans to reveal the redesigned model before the end of the year, with production set to begin in early 2025.
