The next-generation Tacoma midsize pickup undergoes a complete makeover when it moves onto Toyota's F1 global body-on-frame platform for 2024. Design patent filings signal the Tacoma will adopt the front styling of the newest Tundra full-size pickup — a heavily creased hood, rectangular fog lights, multiple slats below the headlights. Toyota previewed similar design cues on an electric pickup shown in Tokyo in late 2021.

In 2024, the midsize pickup is slated to get a complete makeover when it moves onto Toyota's F1 global body-on-frame platform.

The Tacoma, the top-selling U.S. midsize pickup, is expected to adopt Toyota's latest in-house infotainment system, with improved safety and driver-assistance systems. Two powertrains are likely planned at launch: a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a hybrid-assisted turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder.
