As Canadians began to socially distance and businesses shut down to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Tony Del Gobbo was stumped about how he could help.
Then Del Gobbo, dealer principal at Newmarket Hyundai in Ontario, had an idea. He would loan 25 new vehicles to front-line medical workers at the nearby Southlake Regional Health Centre free of charge to help them more easily get to work when they were so desperately needed. Additional vehicles went to staff at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital further north.
"At the end of the day, we don't produce masks. We don't produce PPE. Giving them cash is one thing, but this actually helps directly," Del Gobbo said.
